How to start

  1. Make sure the product isn't excluded: meat, seafood, cannabis, raw milk products, or alcohol.
  2. TCS foods need a food handler course or the OSU Homemade Food Freedom Act workshop, and must be sold directly to the consumer.
  3. Registration with ODAFF is optional ($15 a year) and lets you use a number instead of your name, address, and phone on labels.
  4. Label every product.

Key label items

Use the exact required wording shown in the full guide and on the agency's site.

  • Legal disclosure statement
  • Your name, address, and phone, or your ODAFF registration number
