How to start

  1. Check that the product is a non-perishable food on Nevada's cottage list. Pickles, salsas, sauces, fruit butters, and nut butters aren't cottage foods.
  2. Register with your health district: SNHD in Clark County ($220 one-time), NNPH in Washoe County, or the state elsewhere. You must be a single person, not a business with employees.
  3. Sell directly to consumers in Nevada. Register in each other district where you sell.
  4. From July 1, 2027, the Nevada Department of Agriculture takes over registration statewide under AB 352.
  5. Label every product.
